3attar, a Cairo-based foodtech company, raises seed capital

3attar is a Cairo-based startup in foodtech. It has received seed funding from AUC Angels and UI Investment as well as several angel investors. 3attar lets users order healthy food online, and access a variety of diet programs and recipes. B2C platform 3attar provides customers with value through online healthy product offerings and delivery services. It also offers live coaching programs that offer additional subscription and electronic payment options.


3attar provides support for the local healthcare community to at-risk people who lack the knowledge and products to improve their condition. People with diabetes, obesity, or allergies. Another client group includes athletes, dieters, and fitness professionals who eat healthy and maintain a healthy diet.

Mariam Kale from AUC Angels noted that the specialized eCommerce space has seen a greater inflow of venture capital and angel investments in the last year. 3attar works to address the rising trend towards healthier living.

The company’s offering grew from just a few hundred to more than 3000, making it Egypt’s largest health shopping destination. This unique combination of logo and name was expanded to become its private label, which generated 20% of the company’s overall revenue.

3attar founder/CEO Mohammed Ali spoke out about their plans to ” be the leading one-stop-shop in Egypt for all things health and expand into the MENA region.
