Seed funding of $5M was raised by Actual, an ESG Transformation Platform based in San Francisco, CA. It was created to assist companies with sustainability and help them meet corporate and net-zero pledges.
Backers included Buckley Ventures, Hyper, Wndrco, Sequoia Scout, Signalfire Scout, Craft Scout, and Global Founders Capital.
Rajesh Chaudran, the former founder of Heighten (acquired in Microsoft/LinkedIn), Rajesh (now known as Altiscope) and Karthik Balakrishnan, Ph.D. and former LinkedIn software engineering and Rhodes Scholar, Derek Lyons (Ph.D.), founded Actual. This platform enables corporations, governments and change-making organizations to plan and execute sustainable initiatives using data, simulation, intuition, and intuition. It combines urban planning, game design and scientific planning to provide brands with a simple method to create and implement environmental, social, and governance plans. Actual has worked with groups like Giga, 2000W Smart Cities and GAV. Actual also recently formed a partnership with ZQRX, a regenerative wool fiber platform, to create ESG solutions for sustainability leaders like Allbirds, VF Corporation, and VF Corporation.
