The second cohort of Migration Entrepreneurship Prize, which is a prize for socially oriented startups whose goal it is to improve the inclusion and integration of migrants in the Middle East/Africa, accepts applications.
The initiative, which is a collaboration between Seedstars and the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) Peace and Human Rights Division, seeks to empower and support areas particularly susceptible to strong migration movements, such as the Middle East and Africa, by addressing the underlying causes of irregular migration and strengthening migrants’ socio-economic rights.
The Migration Entrepreneurship Prize is searching for socially-driven startups on a quest to improve migrants’ economic inclusion after the first cohort of 20 startups were chosen for solutions ranging from financial services, education, health, and much more. The program will target business owners in Sub-Saharan Africa and North Africa.
Startups that address the positive aspects of migration while also lowering migrants’ weaknesses, social-driven businesses that relieve population pressure along migration routes, and entrepreneurs who offer products and services straight to migrants are all encouraged to apply.
The Migration Entrepreneurship prize is also launching a Tunisia Track, which will offer additional support for Tunisian entrepreneurs who take part in the program.
