Agxio, an Aberystwyth, Wales, UK-based provider of an AI platform to solve complex, real-world problems that are beyond human scale, closed a £2.1m Pre-Series A round.
Agxio is a partner of the Development Bank of Wales.
The company plans to use the funds for scaling operations, entering new AI, Agritech, and life sciences markets, continuing to develop the platform, as well as expanding internationally.
Agxio was founded in 2018 by Dr Stephen Christie and is currently led by the CEO. The platform automates the roles of the data scientist/machine learning engineer and allows them to quickly design, build, and deploy enterprise-scale AI solutions across a variety of uses cases in agriculture and related life sciences industries.
The company’s suite of technologies has been validated commercially across industries and use cases including arable and livestock farms, closed environment agriculture, parasitology, NHS community care, and pathology.
It is located at the Aberystwyth Innovation and Enterprise Campus and Cambridge Science Park.
