Air Doctor raises $20 million in funding

$20M funding was raised by Air Doctor, Jerusalem-based travel and medical startup called.

The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from Vintage Investment Partners, Munich Re Ventures, The Phoenix, and Kamet Ventures.

The company plans to use the funds for new employees, opening additional offices abroad, expanding the product and marketing departments, and to strengthen the vetted network of medical professionals, particularly in the US.

Air Doctor was founded by Jenny Cohen Derfler (Efrat Sagi Ofir), Yam Derfler, and Yegor Kurbachev. It connects travelers who need medical attention abroad with local doctors via their mobile and desktop apps. Its international outpatient medical network has over 20,000 professionals who offer telemedicine or in-person consultations.

The startup currently has over 60 employees based in Israel, Europe and the Middle East.
