Ancient8 Raises US$6M in Funding

Ancient8, a Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam-based GameFi infrastructure developer and a large blockchain gaming guild and community, closed a US$6 million financing round.

The round was led by Makers Fund and C² Ventures, with participation from existing and new investors Pantera Capital, 6th Man Ventures, IOSG Ventures, Folius Ventures, Morningstar Ventures, Th3ia Capital, Sky9 Capital, and Play Ventures, among others.

The funds will be used by the company to develop the infrastructure for GameFi, the Metaverse, and to build the next generation software products, community and guild.

Howard Xu was the founder of this company, which was founded in July 2021., Ancient8 is creating software to support GameFi’s infrastructure, with a focus in community and software. It allows GameFi studios the ability to identify and target high-quality gamers through the Ancient8 GameFi ID product and Ancient8 Launchpads. It helps gamers and crypto-communities create their GameFi identity profile and track their achievements in Web3, find blockchain games, get guild scholarships and learn more about blockchain.

The company has built an active community of 200K+ members, providing GameFi education through the Ancient8 Blog, Twitter, Discord, and Ancient8 Research Portal— an institutional-grade research portal for GameFi. Ancient8 manages a large, blockchain-based gaming guild in Vietnam, with more than 3,500 members. They also use their own guild management software.
