Apowiser, a Ra’Anana, Israel-based provider of a chatbot-based system to support customers in the online purchase of Over-the-Counter (OTC) drugs, raised $1.5m in seed funding.

Longliv Ventures, a member CK Hutchinson Holdings Limited, led the round.

Co-founded in 2021 by Prof. Eyal Schwartzberg, the former Head of Pharmaceutical & Enforcement Divisions of the Israeli Ministry of Health, Apowiser PharmAssist was developed by PharmAssist. It is an innovative digital online platform that allows consumers to seek out OTC medication. It allows users to quickly and discreetly learn about their condition and identify any issues that need to be escalated to a healthcare professional. They can also check for potential allergies or sensitivities to OTC medication ingredients and then purchase the appropriate OTC product. PharmAssist uses published medication data as well as a deep understanding about the pharmacy practices. The current platform covers more than 600 OTC drugs & complimentary products, enabling treatment for more than 40 healthcare scenarios.

PharmAssist is already in use by Super-Pharm, Israel’s largest drugstore chain, operating more than 280 branches across the country with an accompanying strong online presence.
