AXIS Signals Ambitions for Growth through Launch of AXIS Group Benefits

AXIS Insurance, the specialty insurance business segment of AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, today announced it is combining its corporate accident and supplemental health benefits business under a new name, AXIS Group Benefits. The AXIS Group Benefits business portfolio will be managed by the newly expanded team, providing a dedicated team of specialists responsive to the dynamic needs of US employers and associations.

Ternian Insurance Group LLC was acquired by AXIS in 2014. As part of the transition, it will be renamed AXIS Group Benefits LLC., Reflecting the integration of these products, services, and the strength of a single team. Customers who are already customers will not be affected. It will still be a specialty MGU, with its principal office and staff in Phoenix, AZ. The new team, which will sit within the AXIS Accident & Health division, provides a platform upon which to service distribution partners and customers with new and enhanced products and services in the group benefits space. The new product’s first release is expected to be announced in the latter part of this year.

Doug Hayes will head AXIS Group Benefits as Ternian Insurance Group’s Head. He will report to James Hamilton Global Head of Accident and Health at AXIS. Dominick Zenzola, Head of Underwriting Operations, and William Kramer, Head of Sales will be responsible.
