Bodyguard.ai, a Paris, France-based online moderation solution provider, raised €9M in funding.
Starquest Capital was also involved in the round, as well as Ring Capital and Keen Venture Partners.
The funds will be used to expand the company’s international reach across Europe and the United States.
Bodyguard.ai is led by Charles Cohen, the CEO. It provides an online moderation service that monitors for and modifies toxic content in real time. Bodyguard.ai’s free mobile consumer app was created in 2018. It has helped many people to be protected from hateful comments via Twitter, Instagram and Youtube. The company’s AI model can accurately moderate 95% of hateful content in real-time, taking less than 200 milliseconds. It doesn’t need a human moderator to make decisions. To date, the company has protected more than 700 million people worldwide from threats, racism, misogyny, LGBTQI+phobia, sexual harassment, and “polluting” content (spam, scams, and unwanted ads).
The software is used by international clients in media (M6 Group and Brut, Konbini), entertainment, Jellysmack, gaming (Powder), and sports (French Professional Football League).
Bodyguard.ai already has three offices in France, one in Los Angeles and another in France. This is just the beginning of its international expansion strategy. Bodyguard.ai has opened a London office and plans to increase its workforce by more than doubling in 2022. This will allow it to become the Metaverse’s toxic content moderation solution within 5 years.
