Bokksu Raises $22M in Series A Funding

Bokksu is a New York-based Japanese snack subscription service and e-grocer. It raised $22m Series A funding at a valuation of $100M.

Valor Siren Ventures led the round with participation from Company Ventures and St Cousair, World Innovation Labs, Headline Asia, Gaingels, and World Innovation Lab.

Bokksu was founded by Danny Taing in 2015. It helps traditional Asian producers reach a wider audience. Bokksu Market was launched in 2015 to provide a digital marketplace to purchase premium Japanese lifestyle products. Bokksu Grocery is an online grocery store that allows anyone to find and purchase authentic Asian food products.

The company intends to use the funds to increase product range, create more original content and hire new talent.
