Carla, a Stockholm, Sweden-based EV e-commerce company, raised €19m in funding.
The round, which brought total funding to date to €32m, was led by Bonnier Ventures, with participation from investors including Inbox Capital, Black Ice, and VNV Global.
The funds will be used by the company to expand, product development, increase capacity for delivery, repair of vehicles, and develop aftermarket services.
Co-founded by Patrik Illerstig, formerly Head of Global Online Business at Volvo Cars, and Niklas Jungegård, a serial tech entrepreneur, in 2021, Carla is an e-commerce company for electric cars. Customers can purchase top-condition EVs, which have undergone thorough inspection, testing and refurbishment, as well as sell their used cars via the website. Carla provides customers with a pick-up and delivery service within Sweden of up to 72 hours. Every car is battery tested, and all vehicles are inspected at 280+ points to ensure the best condition. Customers receive a 12-month warranty, favorable financing, a fourteen-day right to withdrawal, and free returns when Carla picks the car up.
Since inception, Carla has grown at a rapid pace with an annual turnover rate of over €55m with improving margins.
