Chatdesk Raises $7M in Funding

Chatdesk is a New York-based customer service tech company that raised $7M.

Cultivation Capital led the round with participation from Harlem Capital and Serena Ventures. Stormbreaker Ventures was also involved. Fika Ventures was also part of the round.

Chatdesk is headed by Aneto Okonkwo as Co-Founder & CEO. It combines machine learning and U.S-based agents in order to connect users’ social channels, email and SMS. This allows them to quickly clear backlogs and convert social comments and DMs to conversions.

It connects to existing customer service systems such as Zendesk, Gorgias and Intercom as well as brands’ social media platforms, like Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. The platform then finds Superfans of a brand and makes it easy to schedule staff and handle the hiring, training, and scheduling to scale the customer service team. Machine learning analyses support messages from the past to build a growing, brand-specific knowledge base. Chatdesk technology allows Superfans to answer customer questions using the brand’s voice, policies and technology from day one.

It is used by hundreds of brands, including Thinx and Shea Moisture, Factor Meals and Mented Cosmetics, to increase customer support and drive sales.
