Grupo Central, a Chilean startup, raises $3 million funding

Grupo Central, a Chilean startup, raised $3M in a seed-round that was led Moonvalley Capital and Global Founders Capital (GFC) as well as Opera Ventures.

Grupo Central, a pioneering startup in Chile in the development and operation of Dark Kitchens and Dark Stores models in Chile, is Grupo Central. 

The startup offers professional kitchens specialized in delivery, along with urban logistics solutions, storage, and distribution for e-commerce, logistics and technology for delivery, and more. 

Their deliveries start at 30 minutes from its Dark Stores.

Dark Stores refer to a retail distribution center or outlet that caters exclusively to online shopping.

Major players in the ecosystem are the investors who led the round.

Global Founders Capital has made investments in companies like Delivery Hero, Slack, LinkedIn, Slack, Slack, Slack, Slack, Slack, Slack, Slack, Slack, Facebook and LinkedIn. Grupo Central is Chile’s first startup.

The company currently has 25 Dark Kitchens in five Hubs and 14 Dark Stores. These are located in nine communities within the Santiago Metropolitan Region.
