The round was led by Dallas Venture Capital and Cerium Technology Ventures with participation from Klister and GCI. During the funding, round partners from Cerium Venture Capital and Dallas Venture Capital joined the Citylitics board.

The company plans to use the funds for its marketing, sales, and customer success teams to increase their sales and market share; expand into new infrastructure verticals across North America; continue to build out its data pipelines, platform functionality, and to further develop its data pipelines.

Citylitics, headed by Ahmed Badruddin (CEO), provides an intelligence platform to support critical infrastructure investments and plan for future projects in North America. Its data platform enables stakeholders in the infrastructure market – including manufacturers, suppliers, as well as engineering, investment, and consulting firms – to identify and pursue sales opportunities through access to reliable, meaningful, and predictive insights on infrastructure plans, decisions, and market activity.

The platform can access millions of public documents and data from cities, utilities, and other public agencies. This includes minutes of council meetings, budgets, capital plans and permits, as well as environmental reports and reports. The system uses machine learning, augmented with human expertise, to find indicators of infrastructure requirements and transforms them into meaningful, predictive market information on infrastructure plans and priorities, forecasts and projects, research, and other topics. These insights are used to identify and pursue the right opportunities at the right stage using the correct approach and strategy by the stakeholders who serve the infrastructure market. Customers include large manufacturers, suppliers, engineering, construction, investment, and consulting firms in the infrastructure sector, including Aegion, Echologics, and EXP.

Citylitics has also offices in Milwaukee, Austin, and remote employees across North America.
