Cliqki, The Future of Advertising

Imagine a world in which you were paid every time you shared a link to a friend. How many TikTok videos were shared in the first week? Imagine if every time there was buzz online you received a tip. Cliqki’s future in advertising is this.

Cliqki this is an ad tech platform and social media marketplace where brands, content owners, creators, and marketers can raise awareness for their products or services and offer incentives to influencers and users who promote them.

Co-founded by Adetomi Odufuye(CEO) Aderemi Odufuye(CTO) was launched in April 2021. Adekunmi Odufuye Cliqki is the CCO. Cliqki was created from personal observations by founders who were trying to promote music content, a financial brand and grow their following on a cryptocurrency platform. They found that many big-name adtech platforms earn millions of dollars from brands/companies but share only a small percentage with influencers or users.

Cliqki makes advertising more accessible by only taking a small percentage and making the majority of the ad revenue available for the community. Cliqki makes it easy for anyone to be a paid influencer.

Advertising is the future

Advertising can be aspirational. Brands hire celebrities and high-profile individuals to promote their products, and people who want to be like them buy the products. Brands are realizing that they can maximize their advertising reach with micro-influencers and celebrity advertising thanks to social media.

A Twitter 2016 report the study found that 56% sought advice from friends while 49% relied upon influencers when they were looking for product recommendations. Micro influence, which is more personal than influencing is, is predicted post-pandemic, brand storytelling is more important than ever because media consumption has changed from glossy magazine photos to at-home TikToks or Instagram stories.

According to a 2019 study on Millenials—the largest consumers of social media—and the effect micro-influencer marketing has on their purchasing habits, millennials regard influencers as an authentic way of assessing brands and products and micro-influencer marketing “trigger millennials to engage in further research regarding a specific product or others in the same category”.

Social media is all about word-of-mouth and being relatable in modern times is a currency. Content driven by people just like you thrives, from reality TV to YouTube and TikTok. Advertising on social media and social media are driven primarily by authenticity. Do we really love that YouTube make up artist who looks like a friend? How many reels and stories are you able to watch each day?

You don’t need to be a celebrity anymore to get engagement, everybody is connected now and everyone influences everyone.

Brands, content creators, businesses, and advertisers advertising on social networks isn’t always easy. While all major ad tech and social media platforms offer an extensive audience, but little personalization, they are also more expensive and make a larger percentage of the profit.  These platforms’ services often have restrictions on the types of content allowed and general restrictive advertising rules which make it harder to promote content.

Also, in countries like Nigeria where there’s a monthly dollar spending limit, creators have a hard time even paying for marketing campaigns to run on social media.

What Cliqki is offering bands have the opportunity to personalize and maximize marketing reach. Everyone who shares a link can profit from it.

Cliqki is a platform that facilitates both advertising and payment in marketing. It is unique in this field as most advertising platforms only advertise — you pay, they advertise. Cliqki shares the profits with all those involved, even the non-influencers who share a link with friends. This gives brands the chance to reach a wider audience and at a lower price.

How it works

Brands and content producers can use the platform to upload their content or campaigns and then attach a spending budget to them by purchasing tokens.

Cliqki users share content for the brand. A unique URL is generated and the user/influencer gets rewarded each time someone clicks the shared link. Rewards per click can vary from ₦10 up to ₦1,000 depending on the budget set by the brand.

Rewards are credited to the user’s wallet and can be redeemed by either converting tokens to cash directly to their bank account or for airtime, gift vouchers and other prizes.
