Cloudflare provides public access to its IPFS Gateways, Ethereum and IPFS Gateways

Cloudflare, a web infrastructure platform, has announced that it will support the development and deployment Ethereum for customers through its IPFS gateways and Ethereum. Cloudflare customers will be able to log in to the dashboard to create a zone for Ethereum or the InterPlanetary Fil System (IPFS) or both.

Ethereum Gateway

Cloudflare is a fast-growing data storage company that positions itself as an underlying infrastructure for a variety of blockchain-based applications.

Cloudflare’s Ethereum Gateway lets users read and write access to the ETH networkThey can access all information without the need to install any software. They can access any information that has been validated by the existing nodes of the blockchain without having to install any software.

According to the company’s recent blog post, it has created a new API with end-to-end managed hostname deployment, ensuring that the creation and management of gateways remain speedy and frictionless.

One of the striking features, as described, is that a new testnet support is installed to “ensure new development can be easily tested, hardened, and deployed to the mainnet without incurring additional risks to the blockchain network.“

The post explained that DeFi protocols can use Cloudflare IPFS to host their front-end web apps to further prove its infrastructure support for web3 applications. NFT designers also have the option of using the Ethereum Gateway for new offerings, and the IPFS gateway in order to store digital assets in a distributed system.

Dapps with high traffic volumes can also use the service to avoid congestion.

Cloudflare Supports Ethereum’s PoS Transition

Cloudflare also cited Ethereum’s upcoming transition to Proof of State through “the Merge” as a critical moment for solving the “scale and environmental challenges that face blockchain technologies today.” The company stated it will continue to support Ethereum’s PoS transition.

“Over the next few months, CloudflareWill launch and fully stake EthereumValidator nodes for the Cloudflare global network as the community approaches its transition from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake with ‘The Merge.’ These nodes will serve as a testing ground for research on energy efficiency, consistency management, and network speed.”

Cloudflare confirmed its lack of Proof of Work infrastructure, by running Proof of Stake validator nosdes on the network.
