Dash Raises $32.8M in Seed Funding

Dash, a payments app provider based in Accra Ghana raised $32.8M in Seed financing.

The round was led by Insight Venture Partners, with participation from Global Founders Capital, 4DX Ventures, ASK Capital, Techstars, and Guillaume Pousaz’s Zinal Growth Partners, Jitendra Gupta of Jupiter Money, Amrish Rau, CEO of Pine Labs, the founders of Moss, executives from ProcessOut (acquired by Checkout.com), and the founders of PennyLane.

The company plans on using the funds to launch new features and expand its reach in key African markets.

Dash was founded by Prince Boakye Boampong to make it easy for 1.3 billion Africans, who can transact with digital currency. Dash, which is now operational in Kenya and Nigeria, reported a Total Processing Volume (TPV), of more than $300 million in January 2022. This was 3X higher than the monthly average starting in Q4 2021. The company’s 1 million+ customers have processed over $1 billion since its launch in 2020.
