Diligent Robotics, founded by Dr. Andrea Thomaz (co-founders) and Dr. Vivian Chu (director), is focused on social robotics. It builds a robot with mobile manipulation and social intelligence to assist people in their workplaces. Moxi, a collaborative robot assistant, was introduced by the company in 2018. It assists clinicians with routine tasks that are not patient-facing, such as fetching and delivering medications or laboratory samples.
The company intends to increase interoperability, drive purposeful integrations to existing hospital infrastructure, electronic medical records, and clinical communication, in order to continue meeting the needs of the nursing shortage.
