Samsung Exynos 2200’s Xclipse 920 GPU Benchmark

Samsung’s Exynos2200flagship chips were released this week. While the architecture and Snapdragon 8 Generation1, Dimensity 9000 are similar, the GPU is original, based upon AMD RDNA2 to create Xclipse 920. This chip supports advanced variable refresh rates, ray tracing, and other features that Samsung claims will provide an unmatched gaming experience.

Geekbench 5 recently revealed the Samsung Xclipse GPU benchmark score. Geekbench score reveals that the test platform was Samsung SM-S908B with 8GB RAM and an Android 12 system. The final OpenCL score can reach 9143 while the lowest score has 8266.

Wccftech indicates that this GPU has 3 compute units. This could be 3 WGPs which could indicate it could have 384 stream processors. It runs at a surprisingly low clock speed of just 555MHz frequency. This is compared to the 2.3 times previously reported. Geekbench also shows 4GB video memory (expectedly shared from system RAM) as well as 384 stream processors.

Side-by-side, the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 scores around 6200, while the Snapdragon 888 scores around 4835 and the Apple A15 Bionic scores at 14556. However, the Exynos 2200’s final performance is still very promising. Paper performance is not the only thing that matters. Also, consider the final power consumption, temperature control and game optimization. You should also practice for the final test.
