FourthRev is a UK-based online education company that closed $8m Series A funding.

Educapital led the round, along with Reach Capital, Emerge Education, and Danner Capital. The round also included a number edtech executives and entrepreneurs.

The company plans to use the funds for the development and promotion of more Career Accelerators in key areas that are experiencing severe digital skills shortages, such as cybersecurity, analytics, and project management skills. It also intends to double its global headcount, which will allow it to expand operations in North America, Australia, South Africa, and South Africa.

FourthRev, led by Jack Hylands has created a new type of education called Career Accelerators in order to address global digital skills gaps. The company’s programs are a model for employer-university collaboration, combining technical education and university education. To create globally relevant programs, the company brings together internationally recognized universities such as the London School of Economics and Political Science, now King’s College London and leading technology companies like Tableau and Github.

FourthRev’s first Career Accelerator for Data Analytics is now underway. This six-month program will help students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines develop data analysis skills. The program was developed and designed by LSE’s Departments of Statistics & Department of Methodology in collaboration with industry partners to meet current industry needs. This program will cover the core concepts of data handling and analysis. It will also include real-world projects that will allow students to test their knowledge in real business situations.
