It’s hard to remember how many times I have used the phrase Google is preparing to enter the smartwatch segment. However, it has never happened. We’ve heard rumors about a Google Pixel Watch for years, but they never materialized. After many attempts and developments, it appears that the search giant is now ready. The latest development shows the Google Pixel Watch will finally debut on May 26.
Jon Prosser, a reliable tipper, has the latest report. According to Prosser, this is the first time we have an exact date. However, this is true. Back in 2021, rumors suggested that the device would launch alongside the Google Pixel 6 Series. Both devices were launched at the end without the companion smartwatch. Google had been planning to launch the wearable in October but decided to postpone it until the next round. According to the tipster, delays are a common occurrence for Google products.
GOOGLE IS KNOWN TO DELAY PRODUCTS. THE PIXEL FOLD IS JUST ONE EXAMPLE.
If you recall, last year’s was also filled with rumors about the company’s first foldable smartphone. The Pixel Fold, which was tentatively named Pixel Fold, was expected to launch alongside the Pixel 6 do. However, that didn’t happen. The rumors started to spread suggesting that the launch would be in early 2012. There is no evidence to support the Pixel Fold launch at this time. Google has already confirmed that it is developing a foldable smartphone and is currently preparing Android 12L for the launch. The product appears to be experiencing multiple delays, just like many other Google products.
In the past year, Google and Samsung worked together to improve WearOS. According to the new version, WearOS is more functional and optimized. After working with Google for several months, Samsung made the decision to switch to Google’s service. Google’s new WearOS is a great opportunity to make a splash in the wearables market. Let’s wait and see how things develop.
Google may be prepping the Pixel Watch for launch along with the rumored Pixel 6a, taking into account the May launch date. Up to then, we expect more leaks.
