Handspring Raises $6.2M in Seed Financing

Seed funding of $6.2M was raised by Handspring, a Newark-based mental health company.

The round was led and participated in by Newark Venture Partners, NextView Ventures, Quantum Angels, Arkitekt Ventures and 25madison Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate clinician hiring, open modern clinics in New Jersey, invest in technology and patient experience, launch payor partnerships, and expand into new markets.

Founded in 2021 by Sahil Choudhry and Kwasi Kyei, both previously digital health investors, Handspring is building an omnichannel behavioral health center to deliver quality mental healthcare through an experienced clinical team, modern clinics, a virtual health platform, and health plan partnerships.

The omnichannel care delivery system tightly integrates all modalities, including digital and in-person care.
