Hatch, a South African dating app, aims to offer users a different experience than the traditional one.

The app does not connect people based on their interests or attraction. Instead, it focuses on local attractions and activities.

The app was first launched on iOS in 2021 and had a soft launch.

It is available now on the iOS App Store as well as the Google Play Store.

Here are some details about the app’s future plans and how it was developed.

How the Hatch app was created

Hence, why did the founders of the company decide to create the app.

Greg Cooke, co-founder of Memeburn, stated that the idea was born out of frustration with existing dating apps.

“Our experiences validated by consumer research. It was evident that issues such as misrepresentation and a lack compatibility were major pain points we believe can be addressed.”

The creators of the app surveyed South African dating apps users to find that only 10% of them had met up with their matches. Hatch is a dating app that connects people through shared experiences.

Although the original idea of the app was to be a dating app it has now shifted away from that focus.

Cooke notes that the program is intended to create safe and community-first connections while giving small business owners in our serviced sector the chance to tap into new forms of customer acquisition.

Users can connect with others through shared interests and experiences.

Cooke states that by centralizing the ability to search and book tours & attractions, activities, events, and dining experiences in an engaging, engaging, and exciting mobile platform, people can explore their curiosity through “things to do” near them.

By sharing your interest in a particular experience or location, you can connect with other users via the app.

Hatch: How it works and where it is available

Both experiences and people can be saved to the app. Only you can see who you saved. To take the next step, you can send a hatch request and chat with these people.

For verification codes, your phone number will be required to sign up. Werner Kotze is the co-founder of the app. The app uses mobile authentication in order to limit fake accounts.

The next step is to enter your email and name. You have the option to opt out of marketing communications.

Next, enter your birth date. The app requires that users be at least 18 years of age. You will need to upload three photos of yourself.

You have the option to either add more information to the app, or go straight to exploring your experiences.

You can click on a picture to view more information and select whether or not you like the experience.

You can also search for experiences and filter them by tags.

Cape Town and the Garden Route are the only places where you can experience these experiences.

The company however plans to expand its operations to major cities in South Africa by 2022.
