IPHONE 15 PRO to launch with a 5X periscope camera

We are still in 2022 and Apple should focus on the forthcoming iPhone 14 series. This doesn’t mean that the first details regarding iPhone 15 series will not be revealed. Analysts are already anticipating some of the features coming to the 2023 iPhone lineup. We saw reports last month that the iPhone 15 series would have the SIM tray removed to allow for eSIM. Analysts predict that this will change in the iPhone 14 series. A new report indicates that the iPhone 15 Pro will feature a periscope camera that can zoom 5x in optical magnification.

Rumors of a periscope camera debuting with the iPhone 15 Pro have been floating for some time. The new report, which comes from analyst Jeff Pu suggests that Cupertino has already tested prototypes and components for the 5x Telephoto Lenses. The final decision about who will be the manufacturer won’t be made until May 2022. Once the components have been approved, they will be added to the “high-end models” of the 2023 iPhone range. The periscope camera could be included in the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro Max, or vice versa. Lante Optics is likely to be the manufacturer of the lens. Apple is expected to produce 100 million units.

Periscope lenses don’t seem to be new, as Android smartphones are well-known for this feature. This is still a feature of premium or flagship smartphones. These modules enable companies to position longer telephoto lenses horizontally, making them more compatible with modern slim smartphones. Apple may be looking to improve this feature or develop its own periscope before implementing it in an iPhone.

If true, Periscope’s arrival will mark the second major step in the evolution of the iPhone camera series. The 2022 iPhone gang will include a 48MP camera. This is the largest increase in resolution since the iPhone 6s. The reports claim that Apple will also use pixel-binning in order to produce crisper low-light photos at 12 MP resolution.

Apple could offer a 5x optical Zoom solution, unlike other companies such as Samsung which offers 10x optical zoom. We’re curious to see if it will be available alongside a digital zoom solution of equal quality.
