Meet Milton Babajide Macaulay, FUTA Alumnus, Selected for Prestigious Africa Power Programme

Milton Babajide Macaulay is an Alumnus of Federal University of Technology Akure and has been selected to participate in the 2022 Open Africa Power programme. This programme focuses on empowering African clean energy leaders.

Milton Babajide Macaulay, as well as other participants in the OAP 2022 cohort program, will be exposed to the full technical knowledge of the global electric sector to help develop sustainable solutions for the continent.

The Enel Foundation and Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), as well as some academic partners, fund or host the programme.

Selected candidates will be trained virtually by academic experts from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business, Florence School of Regulation, Strathmore University, Politecnico di Torino, Politecnico di Milano, SDA Bocconi and Venice International University. The possibility to travel to Italy for 2 weeks is possible, depending on the Covid-19 situation in October 2022.

A blog post by FUTA celebrating Milton Babajide Macaulay states that the 7-month training program (May 2022 to November 2022), will focus on 3 areas: (1) Regulation and Economics, and (2) Renewable Technology. (2) Networks Technology, Regulations and Economics. (3) ICT Digitalization of the Electricity Industry.

Macaulay stated that he applied for this program to help him complete his transition from the military to civilian life. Bioenergy sector.

Enel Foundation was established in 2012 with the primary objective of supporting research and studies primarily in the energy sector. It is a non-profit organization in Italy that Enel S.p.A. has funded and promoted.
