MOTOROLA RAZR 3 Will Pack Two Larger Displays

Motorola is gearing up to introduce a new generation of foldable smartphones. The company’s RAZR series returned with an appeal to nostalgia thanks to the design that resembled the old RAZR smartphones. However, this wasn’t enough to make the device a huge hit like the Galaxy Z Fold series. The main problems with the device were its pricing and unappealing specifications. Motorola launched a premium foldable with SoCs from the Snapdragon 7xx series, while Samsung and other companies released flagship foldables. Motorola RAZR 3 is Motorola’s return to the foldable market. This device will allow the company to ride the established foldable segment. Motorola recognizes that the technology is maturing and prices are dropping. seems ready to launch a modern foldable with flagship specs.

Ross Young, a popular insider from DSSC claims the device will include a larger screen protector. That’s something massive, it’s set at a 3.0-inch diagonal. This is a significant upgrade to the 2.7-inch on the Motorola RAZR5G. Additionally, the foldable display can reach a larger diagonal of 6.7 inches. That’s also a slight, but noticeable upgrade over the 6.2-inch panel. The leakster claims that the display will be made by China Star.

The Motorola RAZR3 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Generation 1 SoC, unlike its predecessor. However, Motorola is also planning a variant with the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chipset. The device will pack a 120 Hz panel and we assume it’ll be an OLED screen. The handset will come with a side mounted fingerprint scanner that allows users to take selfies while using the main camera. The handset will be equipped with a dual camera setup. Motorola is truly embracing the “modern” designs with the RAZR 3. The device will also have a more “blocky” design than its predecessor.

Motorola could be making a real competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip this time. Samsung’s clamshell foldable smartphone will come in August, and similar to the Z Fold 3 will pack 2022-ready specifications such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chips.

Motorola must address the issue of battery size. The battery capacities of the previous Motorola RAZR generations were not great. Samsung isn’t able to overcome the 4,000 mAh capacity barrier with the upcoming Z Flip 3, so we don’t know if Motorola will be. Hopefully, we’ll see something beyond the tepid 2,500 mAh capacity. The device already had its design exposed through leaked shots.
