MTN Nigeria is ready to release RCS Business Messaging

MTN will launch Rich Communications Services (RCS), Business Messaging (RBM), Services in partnership with Google, Dotgo. This will enable businesses to integrate rich media and chatbots into Google Messages communications.

The new service is powered by Dotgo’s MaaP (Messaging-as-a-Platform) and is integrated with the Google Jibe RCS platform for business messaging. MTN, as a partner, would use Dotgo’s services such as RCS APIs and chatbot directory. Billing, payments reconciliation and other tools will be used by MTN to monetise RCS.

MTN Nigeria is Nigeria’s largest carrier and will be onboard brands to reach Nigerian customers. MTN Nigeria will delight Nigerian customers with an unparalleled user experience, which will increase lead generation and conversion rates. “This is a fantastic opportunity for brands to reach Nigerian consumers for sales and support,” Lynda SaintNwafor Chief Enterprise Business Officer, MTN Nigeria.

In November 2020, Google announced the RCS messaging standard via the default Android texting application Messages by Google. Meta’s WhatsApp offers business solutions since 2018. A vastly updated Business API was announced at the 2021 F8 Developer Event.
