Nubia competes in this market with other manufacturers such as Redmi. Redmi launched its first gaming smartphone, the RedmiK40 gaming version, a few months back. The company appears to have figured out why gaming phones aren’t popular after a few days on the market. Lu Weibing is the general manager for Redmi and says that the company wants to make gaming more popular.

He believes that gaming smartphones aren’t very popular due to their high price. He claims that current gaming smartphone sales are not high due to the high price point. He also claims that there is not a demand for gaming smartphones and that high prices are the only reason.

Lu Weibing believes gaming phone manufacturers are having problems with their thinking and direction. “The initial cost was very high, and everyone wanted more money. This caused the product to diverge from the users’ needs so we have to go back and get it back. Redmi claims it will sell no less than 1.7 million Redmi K40 gaming versions this year. Remember that gaming smartphones sold by all Chinese manufacturers have reached 1.7 million.
