Oneplus nord receives stable android 12 with oxygenos 12

Just recently, OnePlus has unleashed the third Oxygen OS 12 Open Beta build for the original OnePlus Nord from 2020. It was a positive step towards stability and brought many improvements as well as bug fixes. It seems the company has mastered Android 12 in its first affordable smartphone. Today, the stable OxygenOS12 update is being released for the OnePlus Nord. It brings Android 12. Notable is the fact that the update may still take a few days to reach all eligible units across the world.

The company made the announcement via its OnePlus Community Forums: Indian variants will receive the OxygenOS 12 upgrade. European smartphones will receive the update shortly, but the build is still being validated. There is no information available about the update plan for the global version. We expect it to be available very soon, possibly in one week. The update will be available for all eligible units.

It is interesting to note that the Oxygen OS underlying version is the 12.1 with this release. It is worth noting that this update also includes the April 2022 security patches. This update is nearly identical to Open Beta 3’s. Although the internal version numbers are identical F.11, the contents of the OTA paymentload packages are also consistent byte-by byte. Therefore, the Open Beta 3 issue list may appear in stable builds.

Hopefully, these issues won’t be here, after all, that would be the point of launching it as “stable” if it still has bugs? The previous update had issues such as inconsistent settings menu options. Some screen glitches can also be experienced when calling. The Camera can also crash when taking portrait mode photos. An abnormal display of thumbnails while taking burst photographs. When in Guest Mode, the Quick Device Connect is activated.

As the first mid-range model from the company, the OnePlus Nord was revealed. It came with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 SOC, up 12 GB of RAM, and 256 GB Internal Storage. It was also the first mid-range phone to have optical image stabilization. It also featured a 64 MP triple camera combo and a 4,500mAh battery that can fast charge up to 65W. It is worth noting that the OnePlus Nord was released with OxygenOS 10, which is based on Android 10. The device received an Android 11 update and now gets Android 12. It’s unclear whether this is the end of the line or if this device will still get Android 13 and the revamped stock-like OxygenOS 13.

Worth noting, that the company is preparing a OnePlus Nord 2T for the Indian market that will serve as a slight upgrade over its predecessor. The device had specs and details revealed.
