ONEPLUS BUDS PRO special Edition with mithril paint job launched

The OnePlus Buds Pro Special Edition has been revealed with a number of incredible features. The OnePlus Buds Pro Mithril Edition was unveiled by the company at the recent OnePlus 10 Pro launch in China. The new version of the flagship truly wireless earphones features a silver color and is called “Mithril”. This name can be attributed to the striking silver metal texture. The charging case also features the same finish.

Despite its new metal finish, this special edition still retains the design elements from the original OnePlus Buds Pro. The fictional metal Mithril is mentioned in J. R. R. Tolkien’s fantasy novel The Lord of the Rings. It bears a striking resemblance with silver. It is lighter and stronger than steel, however.

The eye-catching OnePlus Buds Pro Mithril Edition was released in China on Tuesday, January 11. It is available for purchase at an introductory price of CNY 699. This converts to approximately INR 8,100. After the end of the launch promotion, the earbuds will cost you CNY 799, which is approximately INR 9,300. The original OnePlus Buds Pro was on sale in India in August 2013 at a cost of INR 9,990 (about $135).

The OnePlus Buds Pro’s 11mm dynamic drivers are capable of delivering a rich, bass-driven performance. The earbuds also support active noise cancellation (ANC). This feature employs clever active noise cancellation algorithms and a triple-mic set up in order to reduce ambient noise by up to 40 decibels. The Buds Pro also has Faint, Smart, or Extreme ANC modes. The earbuds have a low latency setting, which allows for a delay of just 94 milliseconds. This delights avid gamers.

Mithril Buds PRO coating was created using an NCVM (nonconductive vacuum metalization) technology. The earbuds have a metallic appearance. Aside from that, the earbuds and case come with a fingerprint-resistant coating. The new OnePlus TWS features Bluetooth 5.2 and OnePlus Fast Pair for connectivity. It also supports the LHDC audio codec. The earbuds can playback for up to 7 hours if the ANC is turned off. They can playback for about 5 hours if the ANC is on.

With the case, the earbuds can playback music for up to 38 hours without ANC. Music playback is reduced to 28 hours when the ANC is turned on. Each earbud is powered by a 40mAH battery. The 520mAh battery powers the casing. After just 10 minutes of charging, Warp Charge by the company provides approximately 10 hours of audio playback.
