Oracle’s co-founder Larry Ellison, is now the world’s fifth richest person with $136.2 Billion

Larry Ellison, co-founder of Oracle saw his fortune rise by $16 billion, as his stock reached its second-highest level in over two decades.

Forbes reports that Ellison is the fifth-richest person in the world, with a net worth of $136.2 billion.

After reporting better-than-expected quarterly results, Oracle’s stock rose 16 percent. Forbes reports that Ellison is the largest shareholder of Oracle with 1.14 billion shares.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin have been overtaken by Ellison, who are now co-founders at Google.

He is now fifth on the Forbes billionaires’ list, just ahead of Sergey Brin ($121.7 million) and Google’s Larry Page ($126.3billion).

Bill Gates, who has a net worth $139.2billion, is fourth richest person on the planet.

Late 2018, Ellison announced that he had purchased a $1Billion stake in Tesla. Ellison’s shares now amount to $16 billion. The market capitalization for electric vehicle manufacturers has risen by approximately 1,300 percent in the past three years.

Ellison, now 77, makes a substantial portion of his fortune through his Oracle stake. This has increased in value by nearly $44 billion this fiscal year due to the company’s 59 per cent stock price gain.
