Oyster Raised $150M in Series B Funding at a $1 billion-Plus Valuation


Oyster, a global employment platform, raised $150M in Series C funding at a $1 billion-plus valuation.

Georgian was the leader of the round, with participation by Salesforce Ventures. Okta. Endeavor Catalyst and existing investors Stripes.

The company plans to use the funds for further development of its global employment platform as well as to invest in the People Ops community.

Founded in January 2020 by Tony Jamous and Jack Mardack, Oyster provides a platform to hire international employees compliantly, pay them instantly, and provide local benefits in 180+ countries. Customers already use the platform to pay more than $200 million to global talent each year.

The company’s revenue grew by more than 20x in 2021 and its team members by 17x in 2021. It currently has 500 employees across 60 countries.
