Pixel 6 January Update Files Are Live

Although we expected Google to wait until Monday to release the January update for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, they gave us the files today. You can flash your device immediately with either a factory image or OTA build if you’re ready.

As SQ1D.220105.007, the January builds of the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 are available. Google didn’t list any details, so for now we will assume that these are global builds. If you aren’t sure if our gut is right, don’t worry. We will get clarifications from Google or post notes.

You are free to hold off until the problem is resolved. Google provided us with December builds to manually flash, but then pulled those builds weeks later, while verifying that the builds were in serious trouble. Let’s give Google a few days more if you don’t want to wait for an over-the-air update.

Here are the instructions for flashing a factory image. Here are instructions for how to flash an OTA.zip.
