POCO made a comeback in 2020 with the POCOX2 and POCOF2 Pro. The POCO X3 was the device that made the company’s huge return. With its affordability and solid specs, the device brought back the brand’s appeal. A few months later, the POCO X3 Pro was launched and became the real successor to the Pocophone F1. The POCO X3 Pro launched at an affordable price point and brought a powerful SoC, the Snapdragon 860. This is basically an overclocked Snapdragon 855+. The first rumors of the device’s sequel, POCO X4 Pro, began to surface in the last month. It’s now more solidified as an alleged POCO X4Pro 5G was spotted at IMEI database.
The IMEI Database spotted POCO smartphones with model numbers 2201116PG & 2201116PI. Both handsets will be launched under the POCO brand, according to the listing. A new listing on IMEI Database has confirmed that the 220116PG will be the upcoming POCO X4 PRO 5G. The successors of the POCOX3 Pro are moving forward with 5G connectivity. Xiaomi UI, a blog focusing on Xiaomi products, shared the news via Twitter.
Last week, the FCC also identified the POCO handset model 2201116PG. According to the FCC listing, the forthcoming POCO handset will run MIUI 13 right out of the box. It’s difficult to speculate on the processor of this handset, other than the information. It is likely that the Indian model has the 2201116PI number. Unless the Indian branch makes some modifications, we assume the devices will have similar specs.
POCO X4 PRO MAY COME WITH THE SNAPDRAGON 870 SOC
The POCOX4 Pro 5G will likely have an SoC that is more powerful than the Snapdragon 805. It must also bring 5G connectivity. The handset will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. This would be a great move by POCO to make the chipset more accessible for a POCO flagship. We’re curious to see if the handset will get more upgrades, such as an AMOLED display upgrade. We will be able to tell the difference over time, and we anticipate more details to come out in the next few days. POCO already knew a lot about this chipset. After all, the POCOF3 which is based upon the Redmi K40 Pro also had that expertise.
Rumors claim that there are a vanilla POCOX4 and a PoCOX4 NFC. These devices should be equipped with a mid-range chipset, and we suggest the Snapdragon 778G as the best.
