PortalOne Raises $60M in Series A Funding

PortalOne, a Los Angeles-based platform for hybrid games, has raised $60m in Series B funding.

TQ Ventures, Schuster Tanger and Andrew Marks participated in the round.

The funds will be used by the company to expand rapidly content production for its hybrid gaming platform.

PortalOne was founded in 2018 by Stig Olav Kasin (brother) and Bard Anders Kasin (sister). PortalOne offers a new type of interactive entertainment, which embeds live shows into video games. PortalOne Arcade is the platform’s first format. This retro-inspired universe immerses show guests in original PortalOne games, as well as modern and “super-sized” classic games. This allows users to play against show guests directly from their smartphones. It is also developing its own technology to allow third-party creators of content to be created on its platform. ARRI, a global leader in lighting and camera technology, has already entered into a strategic partnership.

PortalOne has recently opened its U.S. production facility in Los Angeles and plans to expand its staff in the U.S. as well as in Norway. PortalOne.com now has a waitlist for users who wish to test the company’s US/Canada beta. The company plans to launch fully in the first half of 2022.

It is based in the USA and has a Norwegian subsidiary.
