Real Raises $37M in Series B Funding


Real, a New York City-based mental health company that is developing a platform-based therapy model, ” has received $37m Series B funding.

Owl Ventures led the round, which also included Dr. Slyvia Romm, former Cityblock Chief Health Officer and CEO Iyah Romm, as well as investors from previous rounds such Lightspeed Venture Partners and Female Founders Fund and BBG Ventures.

Gwenyth Patrow, Megan Rapinoe and Eric Kendricks also back the company. They plan to use the funds for expansion and to increase its business reach and to develop their products.

Led by Ariela Safira, CEO and Founder, Real provides an app-based therapy solution that offers programs and resources for creating a mental health care routine across a variety of themes through the platform’s series of Pathways, including body image, depression, relationship, anxiety, career, stress, and more. Real has a team that includes therapists to each pathway. This allows the company to make the space more accessible for all members. It also considers the perspectives of LGBTQIA+, immigrant, and other minorities.

Monthly memberships offer the traditional 1:1 therapy model as well as a suite digital tools that can be used to address some of the most common inner conflicts.
