Ridge Raises $22M in Early-Stage Funding

Ridge is a Boston-based provider of global cloud services. It was founded in 2012 and has raised $22M in seed funding.

The round was led by NFX, with Mayfield, Slow Ventures and Viola participating.

The funds will be used by the company to increase global cloud deployments.

Ridge, which is led by Mati Lerner, Co-CEO, Nir Shaeffi, Co-CEO and Chief Technology Officer, and Jonathan Seelig, Executive Chairman, is a cloud provider that allows businesses to use cloud-based apps on any infrastructure, anywhere in the world, even previously underserved locations. The cloud uses existing infrastructure from hundreds of data centers around the world. Ridge has partnered with many of the top data centers around the globe, including NTT, T-Systems and INAP. Data centers can easily add public cloud services to the company without having to have the necessary expertise.

Ridge’s managed services — Kubernetes containers and object storage — allow developers to enjoy public cloud agility, performance, throughput and control over the localized infrastructure.
