Shine Interview Raises £1.3M in Funding

Shine Interview, a UK-based provider of a video-based recruitment and HR Tech platform, received a £1.3m funding package.

The deal included:

  • a £500,000 investment from the North East Venture Fund (NEVF), supported by the European Regional Development Fund and managed by Mercia;
  • £300,000 from Mercia’s EIS Funds; and
  • a £500,000 investment from the Finance Durham Fund, managed by Maven Capital Partners, established by Durham County Council and overseen by Business Durham.

The company plans to use the funds for a program to grow and relocate to County Durham. It will create approximately 20 new jobs in the county over the next 18 months.

Shine is led by David Copple, the founder. It facilitates remote, end-to-end recruiting through prerecorded and live video interviewing. The platform also offers a suite of tools such as scheduling, diary management and video CVs. It has clients in 85 countries, including the Royal Navy, RAF and Reed Specialist Recruitment.
