Silent Eight, a Singapore-based provider of AI enhanced economic sanctions enforcement and financial crime prevention solutions, closed a $40m Series B funding round.
The round was led by TYH Ventures with participation from HSBC Ventures, OTB Ventures, Wavemaker Partners, SC Ventures (Standard Chartered Bank’s venture unit), Aglaia, and Koh Boon Hwee, Chairman and General Partner of Altara Ventures. Kolya Miller from TYH Ventures is joining the board.
The company intends use the funds to increase technology functions to support its customers. In 2022, it expects to hire over 150 data scientists and developers.
Silent Eight, a technology company, is led by Martin Markiewicz (CEO and Founder). It uses AI to create compliance platforms for banks to examine every suspicious transaction, beneficiary, customer and customer in real-time. This allows them to fight financial crime and eliminate it altogether. Founded in Singapore and with global hubs in New York, London, and Warsaw, the platform is deployed in over 150 markets.
