Silicon Ranch Raised $775M Equity Funding

Silicon Ranch Corporation is a Nashville-based independent power provider. It raised $775M equity capital.

Manulife Investment Management led the round on behalf of John Hancock and Manulife Infrastructure Fund II. This was its first investment in the company. It was joined by existing shareholders Shell, TD Greystone Infrastructure Fund L.P. and Mountain Group Partners.

The transaction will close subject to regulatory approvals in Q1 2022. The funds will be used by the company to accelerate its growth across North America.

Silicon Ranch was founded in 2011 by Reagan Farr (CEO), and is a fully integrated provider for customized renewable energy, carbon and battery storage solutions to a diverse set, of partners across North America. It has a portfolio of more than 4 gigawatts solar and battery storage systems, which are either under construction or operational across the U.S. Clearloop, a clean tech innovator, was acquired by Silicon Ranch in September 2021 to increase its offerings to corporate buyers looking to achieve their renewable energy goals as well as decarbonization and other ESG goals.

Silicon Ranch was the pioneer of utility-scale solar in Southeast. It started with large-scale projects in Tennessee, Georgia Mississippi, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Mississippi. The company currently owns, operates and maintains over 150 solar generating plants in 15 states, from New York to California.
