SwellCommerce is a San Francisco-based headless commerce platform that serves fast-growing businesses. It raised $20M in Series B funding.

VMG Catalyst led the round, with Headline, Bonfire Ventures and Willow Growth participating. Romain Lapeyre, CEO of Gorgias, and Andreas Klinger also participated. Along with the funding, Carle Senmark, a partner at VMG Catalyst will join the Board of Directors, while Kevin McKeand will become Chief Commercial Officer.

The company plans to use the funds for rapid adoption of its platform, to create an ecosystem of apps and themes, integrations, and merchant solutions, and to hire people in key areas such as product, engineering and support.

Swell, led by Eric Ingram, is a commerce platform that gives developers, merchants, and agencies around the globe the tools and infrastructure they need to sell their products the way they want. Swell’s native features such as subscription management or localization allow for use cases that don’t require custom development.
