Synaptic raises $20M Series B funding

Synaptic, a Gurgaon- and Bangalore, India-based alternative data insights startup, raised $20M in Series B funding.

The round was led by Valor Equity Partners.

The company plans to use the funds for product innovation, data science partnerships, data vendor partnerships, and to expand its go to market teams in key financial hubs around the world.

Synaptic is led by Anurag Abbott, Rohit Razdan and offers investors a data and insight platform that allows them to access diverse datasets for sourcing and tracking companies of their interest, market research, portfolio monitoring, and more. The platform combines over 100 performance metrics such as web traffic, mobile traffic, SEO data and employee data with product reviews and search trends from hundreds of thousands worldwide companies. These data are layered with machine-learning-powered analytics and an automatic insights engine. This allows investors to gain personalized insights from their data which would otherwise be hidden.

The company was originally incubated at Vy Capital, $6 billion AuM global tech investment company. It was spun out in 2016 as an independent company. Synaptic previously raised $6m in Series A and seed funding from Felicis Ventures and Ribbit Capital.
