ThriveAgric, a technology-driven start-up in agriculture, was named the winner at the Central Europe Middle East Africa (CEMEA-VEI) Visa Everywhere Initiative (VEI), a global competition for start and fintech companies and programs that promote innovation.
ThriveAgric will be awarded a monetary prize as well as a place in the CEMEA regional finals.
Global Finale to be held in Qatar in November 2022.
Carepay, another Nigerian fintech company, was also in the final five, and won the Audience Favourite Awards.
Over 1,300 people applied for the competition, with each one from different regions.

The fintech sector has seen significant growth in Nigeria. Nigeria received the most entries from Africa, Central Europe and the Middle East last year. This year, two local startups reached the finals, with ThriveAgric winning the title. In 2015, the program was launched in the United States. It quickly grew into a global program. More than 8,500 companies have participated in the program to date. They have raised more that $16 billion in funding.

NQOODLET (Saudi Arabia) – a unified digital platform to help SMEs manage their expenses and purchases easily.
