Top 6 options for CALL RECORDING on ANDROID Smartphones

Call recorder

Many people love call recording. Unfortunately, not all Android smartphones can access this feature. However, there are many ways to access the call recording feature. Smartphone users have many reasons to record conversations. This feature is available on Android but not all users are able to use it.

This feature is available in many Android skins with a single click. This feature is available for MIUI users like me. Make sure your MIUI version is not lower than MIUI 12. Other Android skins offer the same feature as MIUI. We will demonstrate some alternatives if your Android skin doesn’t offer the feature as shown in the above image.

Important to remember that these steps are only applicable to pure Android 12 on Google Pixel smartphones. The steps will not differ if your device runs pure Android 12 without any modifications. There may be some slight variations if your device uses an Android skin. The end result will still be the same, and you can seamlessly record calls.

1. REPORT CALLS ON ANDROID SMARTPHONES USING THE STOCK PHONE APP

Pure Android skin comes with a Phone app that allows you to make calls without any fuss. This feature is not available to all users. Below are the requirements to access this feature in the Google Phone app. The record call option won’t appear if you don’t meet any of these requirements.

REQUIREMENTS TO RECORD CALLS USING The PHONE APP

  • Make sure your Phone app is updated to the latest version from Google. It can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
  • Make sure your carrier (service provider) supports this feature.

  • Android 9 or higher must be installed on your Android smartphone.
  • Google Phone should always be at the most recent version.

2. SIMPLY USE A VOICE RECORDER

You can use the old Phone app if the Phone app is too complicated for you, or you don’t meet all criteria. You can buy a recorder. When you are having a conversation, turn on your phone and activate the recorder. Although the quality of the recorded audio might not be perfect, it solves the problem. It does require a recorder and some other steps, but it is simple and straightforward, which will save you time and stress.

3. REGISTER ON ANOTHER TABLET, SMARTPHONE, OR COMPUTER

You may have a spare tablet, smartphone or computer that you can use to record your voice. The voice recorder app is included in most of these devices. You can search Google Play Store for voice recorders if your device does not come with one. There are many options to choose from. This spare smartphone can be used as an alternate voice recorder by using a voice recorder application.

4. USE GOOGLE VOICE

You can use Google Voice to record your conversations. This feature comes with a few drawbacks. First, all parties will be notified that the call has been recorded. It only works for incoming calls. The recording feature is not activated by default. You will need to activate it using these steps

  1. You can access your Google Voice account via the official app or on the web.
  2. Go into Settings.
    1. This button will appear in the upper-right corner if you are using the internet.
    2. This option will appear under the hamburger menu icon if you are using the app.

  4. Turn the toggle on by looking for Incoming Call Options.
  5. Answer all calls to your Google Voice Number.
  6. To start recording, tap the number four.
  7. Announcing both parties that the call has been recorded will play.
  8. Or press four to end the call.

5. DEDICATED CALL REORDER

You can also record calls using certain hardware. These pieces of hardware are usually longer than an adult’s index fingers and can be used with Bluetooth. The device can record any data sent to it via Bluetooth once it is paired with the smartphone. This hardware can also be used as a regular voice recorder. This hardware includes RecorderGear PR200 and Forus Cell Phone Call Recording device.

There are many call recording headsets on the market. Bluetooth headsets and wired headsets can be used as regular headsets, but you can also record calls if desired. You can find many good options if you search Google for “Call recording headsets”.

6. THIRD-PARTY CALL REPORTING APPS

You can also use a third-party application to record calls if none of the above options suit you. These apps are not supported by many Android smartphones. This is because your recorded conversations are not secure.
