Trunk Tech raised an undisclosed amount for its Series B

Trunk Tech is a Chinese startup that develops autonomous trucks for vehicles, which was supported by Nio.

The state-owned automaker BAIC led the round. Didi, a ride-hailing company, is also partnering with Didi to put a fleet self-driving taxis onto public roads by 2025.

Pre-IPO Capital Ltd, a private equity firm, and Zhengzhou municipal investor fund were the new investors in this latest round of fundraising.

Trunk Tech was established in 2017 and claims to have delivered over 100 driverless trucks for clients such as China National Offshore Oil Corporation.

The startup claimed it operates a testing fleet consisting of dozens autonomous trucks. These trucks haul cargo for partners such JD Logistics, Deppon Logistics, STO Express and Alibaba. Its fleet has now travelled 1.5million kilometers.
