Vartana Raises $57M in Seed Funding


Vartana is a San Francisco-based provider for managed checkout and BNPL options. It was launched with seed funding of $57 million.

Audacious Ventures led the equity and $50m of debt. i80 Group is a specialist finance firm that provides capital and support for innovative fintech and proptech businesses. Flex Capital, Joe Kraus and many prominent angel investors, including Shoaib Makani and Bipul Sinha, Allen Shim and Adil Syed, participated in the round.

The company plans to use the capital for product development, doubling its engineering capabilities and supporting its vendor partners by hiring new sales and operations employees.

Vartana was founded in 2020 by Kush Kella, Ahmed Sharif and provides companies with a managed checkout platform that helps them close more deals faster. Technology buyers have a wide range of payment options, while technology vendors have tools to close deals and generate steady cash through prepaid deals.

The company works with technology companies in the mid-to-late stages of development and their resellers. Through real-time automated underwriting technology, the platform pre-approves customers for payment plans. The integrated checkout interface allows customers to choose the payment option they prefer and can complete transactions in a matter of minutes.
