Wisq Secures $20M Series-A Funding

Wisq, a Redwood City, Calif.-based platform designed for the social connection needs of employees, raised $20m in Series A funding.

Norwest Venture Partners was the leader of the round, with True Ventures as well as Shasta Ventures joining in.

The company plans on using the funds to increase its growth and expand its team and platform.

Founded by Jim Barnett, chief executive officer; Goutham Kurra, chief product officer; and Chih-Po Wen, chief technology officer, Wisq provides a platform that enables social connections and enhances a sense of belonging and social well-being for both virtual employees and those in physical locations, actively working to mitigate the feelings of isolation and contributing to an organization’s performance, culture and retention rates.

With smart profiles, intuitive sharing, community building and audio lounges for informal hangouts, Wisq helps organizations build work cultures. The artificial intelligence platform (AI) facilitates connections and accelerates engagement. It creates a supportive atmosphere across borders and continents.
